The Experience

 

Composing this whole production was a very intense, fast-paced, real-world experience. My role was being the Production manager and Talent. I like leading a team and did a great job keeping on top of things and helping anyone who needed help. I had an understanding of all systems. Recording the presentation went well because we just wanted to ensure our levels were good, and our FOH engineer did a great job with that. When we determined I was the production manager, I gave people specific systems to set up. For example, I put three people on video and lighting and me and someone else on audio. After that was all determined and who would run which system, it made a much smoother experience when rehearsing.

 

How This Production Happened

 

The time starts, and the team runs over to build the projector screen. This takes the whole team, but once that gets put up, we all worked on pipe and drape. Then all teams split into whatever system they got assigned to audio, video, or lighting. I was on audio, so I set up the PA speakers and patched everything. After everyone finished their system, they started taping. I was helping tape during this time, but then I had to get mic'd up for a sound check. During this time, our Lighting Assistant pointed the lights at me and ensured I fit within them. FOH was ringing the mic out and getting the proper levels. The camera op was white balancing, focusing, and getting the right amount of zoom. After all that was set up, we ran through a couple of presentation takes. Then, it was time to break down. We started with just getting all of our systems out of the way, then took down the projector and drapes. All of this was completed in 2 hours. I had a great team, and we made a fantastic presentation. Enjoy Watching the video!
